In January 2021, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Development published the report "Industry 5.0 - Towards a sustainable, human-centric and resilient European Industry" setting out a common policy and the foundations for the future in this field. This race to develop new words is surprising when the earlier concept of Industry 4.0 is not yet fully digested.
