The purpose of designing a prosthesis is to obtain a similar replica of the missing limb. The prosthesis must guarantee the patient's needs as they are, comfort, functionality and aesthetics. In addition, it should enable the individual to perform common activities of daily living with the least possible energy. In order to satisfy these needs, the components must be placed accurately and comfortably and they must also be chosen correctly, assembled and aligned to provide maximum function reset and minimum gait deviation. However, it is important to note that in current prosthetic practice, the alignment and final assembly of the prosthesis is achieved using the skill and experience of the prosthetist and the patient's comments. Because of this, to optimize the process of selecting the components, artificial neural networks were used to find the appropriate parameters and components in the assembly of a modular lower limb prosthesis in patients with transfemoral amputation. The main objective is that the prosthesis provides the best performance and meets the patient's demand requirements. Additionally, it is hoped that the result obtained will serve as a support to the prosthesis physicians for the decision making of the prosthetic components, thus decreasing the time of assembly and manufacturing.
