ABSTRACT:
With the transformational role of technology and digitization in work environments, understanding the factors that shape the adoption and use of Information Technologies (IT) during interaction between users and digital systems has raised special interest. Moreover, the research field of User Experience (UX) has gained importance, as it involves factors affecting the user's interaction during their experience with a digital system. In this paper, 15 articles are reviewed, including models of technology adoption, fit theories and combined models from both perspectives. The aim of this review is to understand the overlap between the analysed approaches and UX, while exploring the experiential component in interactions with digital systems. After the analysis, the lack of the experiential factor is observed in most of the studied models, even though some of them integrate variables related to psychological needs and emotions. In addition, the majority of the studies reviewed do not consider technology, task and individual performance aspects. The study concludes that the overlap between the adoption, fit and UX models is crucial for assessing the activity of workers with digital systems during task execution.
