Ransomware WannaCry, which has infected more than 220,000 computers in more than 150 countries, may come from South Korea, according to research by computer security firm Symantec.
Culprit is sought for one of the most significant cyber attacks of the last few years. Researchers have found similarities in the code used by this malicious program and used in the past by cybercrime banking Lazarus Group.
According to the same source, the ransom attacks began in 2015, a year in which they detected a total of 340,655. On the other hand, the requested bailout in each of them, from US $ 300 in the case of WannaCry, varies from case to case.
